Ernest Borgnine Passes Away at Age 95 » Gossip - He had an impressive career that spanned six decades, and yesterday (July 8) Ernest Borgnine died of renal failure.
Born in 1917, Borgnine began acting in 1949 following a ten-year stint in the Navy where he became Gunner’s Mate 1st Class.
Ernest’s first big break was in the Best Picture of the Year from 1953, playing Sergeant “Fatso” Judson in “From Here to Eternity” which also starred Frank Sinatra.
He also had roles in notable projects like “McHale’s Navy,” “Airwolf,” and “The Single Guy,” leading eventually to Borgnine’s Lifetime Achievement Trophy at the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Married four times, Ernest leaves behind his wife Tova Traesnaes. He will be dearly missed.
